FAQ
What are the core design principles behind Redline Design?
We believe in purity and authenticity. Our work is guided by strict principles: we use only solid wood and natural materials, and we never mass-manufacture. Every item is hand-built with intention. We refuse to hide the material under paint or stains; instead, we finish every piece with 100% natural oils and wax. Finally, every piece features our signature—a single, natural red line that signifies the intersection of nature and modern design.
Is the red line painted on the furniture?
No. The signature red line is never painted or stained. It is an inlay of solid Padauk wood, which is naturally a vivid red color. We focus on highlighting the beauty of natural materials, so we rely on the wood itself to provide the color.
Will the red line change color over time?
Yes, and this is a mark of its authenticity. Because the red line is natural Padauk wood, it will oxidize over time, deepening into a rich, dark reddish-brown color. This evolution is completely natural and is your guarantee that you own an original Redline Design piece made from real, living materials rather than static, painted surfaces.
Do you stain or paint your wood to achieve different colors?
Never. We do not use paints or colored stains. Our philosophy is to showcase the natural grain and tone of the wood. To achieve different color palettes, we select specific wood species—using lighter woods (like White Oak) for brighter tones and darker woods (like Walnut or Mahogany) for deeper hues. We finish all work with 100% natural oils and wax to protect the wood while keeping it close to its natural state.
Is the stone used in your furniture real?
Yes. We strictly use 100% natural stone for all our designs. You will never find synthetic, engineered, or "faux" stone in our work. Because it is natural, every slab has unique veining and character, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind.
Where is your furniture made?
We are proud to be an international maker with local roots. All of our furniture is currently hand-built in Toronto, Canada and Copenhagen, Denmark. We reject cheap mass manufacturing; instead, we focus on slow, intentional craftsmanship in our local workshops to ensure the highest quality.
Can I customize my order?
Yes, most of our pieces can be customized. Since everything is handmade, we can often adjust dimensions or help you select a specific stone slab to suit your home. Please contact us to discuss the specific changes you are looking for.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Because our work is handmade, we do not keep large stock. You can find an estimated lead time on every individual product page. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with a more accurate ETA based on our current workshop capacity.
Do you ship to my location?
We offer shipping to many locations. If you do not see a shipping option available for your address at checkout, please contact us directly. We would be happy to provide you with a custom shipping quote.
How do I care for and maintain my furniture?
Since we use natural materials and natural oil finishes, proper care is essential. Please visit our dedicated Product Care page for detailed instructions on how to maintain the wood and stone.
What is your warranty and return policy?
