The Fibonacci Coffee Table

I designed this table around a single square piece of natural stone.

After designing this table, I had a fascinating realization: the design's proportions randomly and perfectly fell into the golden ratio. This unique coincidence means the stone-to-wood ratio and the overall dimensions create a visual composition that perfectly matches the principles of the golden spiral.

The rest of the top is proportionally smaller with hand-picked grain, designed to highlight the incredible diversity of wood grain and how it contrasts perfectly and imperfectly with the stone. The top is elevated off the wood base, creating a "floating" effect that highlights the piece from every angle, making the solid and heavy top feel unexpectedly light. While the frame legs are built for strength and stability, their open design serves a dual purpose, offering an integrated shelf for your book collection. This organic blend of unintentional mathematical perfection and deliberate craftsmanship makes each piece a unique work of art.
